2015 Vintage Wine Tasting

2015 Vintage Wine Tasting

Last week we hosted a wine tasting for a client in person for the first time post covid. Whilst zoom has been good, it was great to be doing this live in a room with actual people.

The brief was simple, great wine with some accompanying cheeses. We enlisted the expertise of IJ Melis, who provided us with a top class selection, based on our chosen wines, with tasting notes.

It was a pleasure to present the the wines to the group who enjoyed the experience of tasting different wines from the same vintage side by side.

The White Wines, Burgundy:-

Saint Aubin Sur Gamay. Francois D Allainess

Pouilly Fuisse Vers Cras. Chateau De Beauregard. Joseph Burrier

Chablis Grand Cru Grenouilles. Louis Michel & Fils

The Red Wines, Bordeaux:-

Petit Figeac Saint Emillion (2nd wine of Chateau Figeac)

Chateau Poujeaux, Haut Medoc

Chateau Batailley, Pauillac

In summery all wines performed well and represented what was a very good vintage for both regions. There was a clear step up from the Pouilly Fuisse to the Grand Cru Chablis, as you would expect. The reds were all just at the beginning of their drinking window, with no need to rush. The Petit Figeac was the most forward. The Poujeaux and Batailley at a similar stage, but Batailley was the wine of the night. It will be a pleasure at every stage of its life.

If you would like to discuss holding a similar event please feel free to get in touch via our contact form.
