The next phase was less about wine and more about life! Alison and I left airport life and London to swap it for Motorway Service Areas and Moffat in the beautiful Scottish borders. In those days there were two local sources of wine, the Co-Op and The Moffat Wine Shop. Spent quite a lot of time in there chasing the owner and trying an array of wines. It was during this time that I became a member of The Wine Society and started dallying in buying wine "En Premier". My first order being a case of Caronne Ste Gemme 1994. A wine I have been buying every year since then. A great example of well made Cru Bourgeois claret capable of longevity and lovely quite early in its life also.
