How it all Started Part 3

Over the next two years I moved around various THF departments and companies, but predominantly with Ring & Brymer, the outside caterers. It is here where Champagne came to the fore with the racecourse racing fraternity. Krug, on the wine list at £35 per bottle, was the drink of choice in the members enclosure at Ascot and Epsom and I had a few opportunities to taste it and other great names. Epsom was also the site of one of my most embarrassing wine moments. We formed a chain from a lorry to the storeroom to unload, literally throwing  cases (12) of Champagne from one to another and I dropped one and of course, it was Krug!
